Student-Athlete of the Week - Leonard Korir, Men's Track
Junior Leonard Korir was the second collegiate finisher and eighth overall in the Kim McDonald Memorial 10,000m race at Peyton Jordan Invitational hosted by Stanford University. Korir SHATTERED the Iona school record by over a minute, running a 27:29.40. The time also bested the Olympic Games "A" standard by over 10 seconds. He broke former standout Mohammed Khadrouai's school record of 28:34.19 set at the same meet three years ago. The time was a personal best, IC4A qualifier and currently puts him on the top of the NCAA East list and 2nd on the overall NCAA list as Arizona's Steven Sambu finished just in front of Lenny at Stanford.
