BUFFALO WILD WING STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Alyssa Maiese, Softball
Iona College softball senior Alyssa Maiese was named Buffalo Wild Wings Student-Athlete of the Week after Maiese picked up a pair of non-conference wins in the circle over Temple and St. John's.
In the second game against the Owls, Maiese went a complete game allowing one run in a six-inning mercy victory. The senior struck out seven batters and allowed five base runners.
In her second appearance, Maiese pitched eight inning as the Gaels needed an extra inning to defeat the Red Storm. Maiese allowed one run and just two hits while fanning seven.
