Seven MSOC Student-Athletes Named To MAAC All-Academic Team

NEW ROCHELLE, NY – Seven members of the Iona College men’s soccer program were named to the All-MAAC Academic team Thursday evening.  To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.

Earning the academic distinction are sophomores Kellar Sirstins and Humbert Ferrer, junior Joshua Calderon, and seniors  Enrique Barboto, Neekoli Calderon, Jon-Luke Ferrandino and Julian Petrello.

Canisius College, Manhattan College, and Rider University each added 13 student-athletes, leading the fall All-Academic team. Quinnipiac University and Saint Peter’s University each had nine student-athletes on the All-Academic Team, while Fairfield University added eight. There was a three-way tie between Iona College, Siena College, and Niagara University all finishing with seven student-athletes. Rounding out the list are Monmouth University with six and Marist College with four student-athletes.  A total of 96 student-athletes comprised the team.
