Six Volleyball Student-Athletes Named To All-MAAC Academic Team
EDISON, NJ – On Thursday evening the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced the 2016 All-Academic Team. The Iona College volleyball program have six players earning the academic distinction.
Sophomores Claire Archibald, Kait Ferretti, Amanda Gannon, and Jessica Paolucci all earned honors for the first time. Junior Shaina Campbell and senior Karly White both garnered All-Academic Team membership for the second consecutive year.
The MAAC announced that a total of 60 student-athletes comprise the 2016 MAAC Women’s Volleyball All-Academic Team. To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
Quinnipiac University led all schools with nine student-athletes on the All-Academic Team. Manhattan College and Marist College each had eight student-athletes on the All-Academic Team. Fairfield University had seven student-athletes, while Canisius College, Iona College, and Rider University each added six student-athletes. To round out the list, Siena College had five student-athletes, while Saint Peter’s University and Niagara University totaled three and two student-athletes respectively.
