Appeared in all but one contests (vs. Baylor) and made 19 starts including the last 18 games that saw Iona post a 13-5 record since the turn of the calendar... No. 2 scorer (9.0 ppg) and No. 1 rebounder (7.5 rpg), posting career-highs in both statistics... Recorded a team-high five double-doubles with 13 double-digit point and 10 double-digit rebounding efforts... Held a 67.7% field-goal percentage, the highest in the MAAC and No. 2 single-season effort in school history (behind Anthony Bruin’s 69.7% in 2005-06)... Possesses great hands and finishing ability around the basket... Played in the New York City CHSAA.

Named to the MAAC All-Academic Team for his performance in the classroom... Recorded a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds at Ohio State on Dec. 20... Had one other contest with 10 or more points, tallying 14 at Loyola on Feb. 13... AS A FRESHMAN (2006-07):
Iona’s top rookie in 2006-07 despite battling through back problems for the majority of the season... Appeared in 23 games and made 16 starts including his last eight appearances on the season... Had six double-digit point efforts, four double-digit rebounding efforts and two double-doubles as a rookie... Averaged 7.1 points and was second on the team with 5.9 rebounds per game... Rebounding total led all MAAC rookies in 2006-07... Limited to just 23.2 minutes per game with the sore back... Was the fourth Gael on the season to record 10 or more points in his first start in Maroon & Gold with 10 points at Rhode Island (Milan Prodanovic, Kyle Camper and De’Shaune Griffin)... Had seven points and 10 rebounds at Rider on Dec. 7... Also grabbed 10 boards in his second New Jersey appearance of the season at Rutgers on Dec. 16... Had back-to-back 11 point nights on Iona’s Maryland trip on Jan. 4 and 6... His 11 points led the squad and came on 3-of-4 shooting from the field vs. the Terps... Recorded his first collegiate double-double vs. the Greyhounds with 11 points and 11 rebounds... Missed his first two games of the season at Marist and vs. Manhattan on Jan. 9 and Jan. 12... Had 14 points and eight rebounds in 28 minutes at Niagara on Jan. 20... Had 13 points and eight rebounds in next contest at Fairfield in a career-high 42 minutes... BEFORE IONA (MT. ST. MICHAEL ACADEMY):

Earned numerous accolades including Daily News First Team All-New York City, NYC Player of the Year Nominee, New York Post First Team All-Westchester, First Team All-New York State, and 2006 McDonald’s All-American Nominee after a stellar senior season at Mt. St. Michael under head coach Tommy Fraher in 2005-06... Averaged 15.0 points and 15.0 rebounds per game as a senior, netting double-digit point totals in all but three contests... Had four games with 20 or more points including a season-high 24 against Bishop Ford... Had 21 points and 20 rebound in the NYCCHSAA Class A semifinal win vs. McClancy... Was named MVP of the CHSAA Final in a win over Cardinal Hayes Led his team to a 26-2 overall record, 11-0 in CHSAA-A regular season play, and an appearance in the 2006 CHSAA State Championship Game... As a junior averaged 12.8 points, nine rebounds and four blocks earning All-Bronx and New York Daily News All-Star honorable mention... Helped lead the New York City team to a gold medal at the 2005 Empire State Games.
