Edison, NJ - Rookie OF Erin Kyle was selected this week as MAAC Rookie of the Week. Kyle batted .455 (5-11) in four games last week for the Gaels. She tallied three runs and one stolen bases during the week. In the doubleheader against Fordham, Kyle went a combined 3-for-5 with three hits and a walk.

Kyle had a strong week against Seton Hall and Fordham. In the first game against the Pirates, Kyle was aggressive on the bases after reaching on a single proceeded to steal second and came around to score on a Melanie Gettins RBI single. She also had a successful sacrifice bunt that pushed two runners into scoring position in the top of the sixth inning. Kyle went 1-3 in the second game with single and run scored helping Iona to a 7-5 win.

In the double-header against Fordham, Kyle went a combined 3-for-5 with three hits and a walk. She scored the Gaels' only run In the second game as she singled and moved to second on a ground out. Jessica Horvath came to the plate and struck out, but reached first on a wild pitch and the Rams’ catcher tried to catch Kyle
moving to third, but the ball rolled into left scoring Kyle. Kyle has a .450 average, .455 slugging percentage and .538 OBP during these four games.

Kyle and the Gaels return to the oval on Wednesday, April 2 at Albany against the Great Danes.
