PISCATWAY, NJ – The Iona College track & field outdoor program completed competition at the Rutgers hosted Metropolitan Intercollegiate Championships this evening with the men’s team collecting a pair of top-five finishes.
In the 100 meter dash, Gerom Solis earned a spot in the finals after running a qualifying time of 11.20 to earn fourth place in the preliminaries. Solis picked up fifth place in the finals by improving his time to 11.16, .10 off of his season best.
Also turning in a top-five finish was Robert Kirsty in the 800 meter dash. Kirsty posted a time of 1:54.16 for third place in the best to record a personal best and put forth the fifth best time in conference this season.
Through 22 events scored, the Iona men’s team recorded 10 points to stand in 10th place out of 12 teams.
