Women's Rowing Selected Eighth In Preseason Poll

New Rochelle, NY - The Iona College women's rowing program was selected eighth by the league's 10 head coaches for the 2017 campaign. The Maroon & Gold sit in the eight spot with 34 points.

Three-time defending champions Jacksonville is once again selected to lead the MAAC, standing atop the the poll with 96 pionts. Marist follows behind as last year's runner-up with 86 points. Canisius (76), Fairfield (68) and Drake (63) round out the top-five. Also placing ahead of the Gaels are Robert Morris (43) and Sacred Heart (38). Stetson and Manhattan follow behind Iona wit 33 and 11 points respectively.

Iona will open up its spring season on Saturday, Apr. 1 in Shelton, Connecticut as they take on Sacred Heart, Manhattan and Fairfield.

The 2017 MAAC Women's Rowing Championship will take place on Friday, May 12 at Mercer Country Park in West Windsor, New Jersey.
