The primary goal of this Third-Cycle NCAA certification self-study is to identify the extent to which Iona College is in compliance with the operating principles outlined in the NCAA Athletics Certification Self-Study Instrument and to develop and implement any necessary actions where needed for improvement.
Subordinate goals include validation of the role of Division I athletics in fulfillment of the College’s Mission, expanding knowledge among members of the campus community and external stakeholders of the importance of intercollegiate athletics programs and their place in Iona College’s mission, and enhancing the internal structures and mechanisms which ensure that continuous improvements will be made to Iona’s athletics programs consistent with the College’s mission and goals.
