BRIDGEPORT, PA - After their performance at the North-vs.-South Tournament at the United States Naval Academy, the Iona College men's water polo team jumped into the CWPA Men's Varsity Top 10 for the first time this season at number nine. Princeton, undefeated on the year, jumped to the top spot after being tied for second a week ago.
Additionally for the second consecutive week, freshman Jake Lloyd
earn the Men's Varsity Northern Division Rookie of the Week award. In a 1-3 weekend for the Gaels, he netted a goal with two assists versus No. 14 Princeton University, chipped in five goals and an assist against Johns Hopkins University and tacked on three goals and an assist versus Mercyhurst.
Junior Kristian Bocage
earned a spot on the Men's Varsity Northern Division Player of the Week award honor roll for the first time this season. Bocage had eight points for the Gaels in Annapolis. Against Princeton, Bocage had one goal. Against No. 16 Bucknell, Bocage had four goals and one steal. Bocage finished the weekend with a three point effort (1g, 2a) against Mercyhurst.
The Gaels return to the water Saturday when they host a pair of contests at the Hynes Center, beginning with a matchup against Harvard at 10:00 am.
