STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK - Jason Weller, Men's Cross Country

Iona College senior Jason Weller was named MAAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for his performance last weekend.

The Gaels earned a near 80-point win in the Brown Race of the 2011 Brooks Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University. Weller led the way with his second place overall finish in his 2011 debut. He ran the 8k course in 25:38. With 125 team points, Iona topped second place Binghamton's 204.

The Gaels are back in action this Friday at the New York Metropolitan Championships at Van Cortlandt Park.
