ELLINGTON, CT - The Iona College golf team opened up its fall slate with the first two rounds at the Connecticut Cup. The Gaels shot a team score of 296 in round one before shooting a near identical 299 in round two. The total score of 595 (+19) leaves the Gaels fifth after day one. Sacred Heart leads overall with a team score of 580 (+4).
The top individual player for the Gaels is sophomore Jordan Kral
, who shot a two round score of 147, finishing day one at three-over and tied for 12th. Juniors Doug Hoppe
and Dylan Newman
each finished day one with at five-over and tied for 21st after each shot 149 over the two rounds. Junior Scott Gallo
is tied for 24th after shooting a six-over 150. Junior Andrew Graham
is tied for 70th after shooting a 15-over 159.
The Gaels wrap up the Connecticut Cup with round three Tuesday.
