BUFFALO WILD WING STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Scott Machado, men’s basketball

Iona College men's basketball senior Scott Machado was named Buffalo Wild Wings Student-Athlete of the Week after an outstanding game against Marist on Sunday evening. 

Machado became the second player in Iona history to record a triple-double, joining former Iona standout Nakiea Miller. Miller posted 14 points, 10 rebounds and 11 blocks vs. Fairfield in the 2000 MAAC semifinal round. After flirting with the feat on several occasions this season, Machado finally got over the hump with 1:03 remaining posting his 10th point of the contest. He added 10 assists and a career-high 11 rebounds in the win.

On the week, Machado averaged 8.5 points per game and 9.5 assists.
